to advance women in ministry.
Joanne
Beach is the National Alliance Women’s
Ministries President. She has had 15 years experience
of directing local church women’s ministries
and 5 years at a national level. She has also served
as the Eastern District Missions Consultant for the
Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination. She
recently completed her training in Arrow Leadership.
She and her husband have 2 children and live in Ajax,
ON. Joanne teaches our unit Shaping Your Ministry
I.
Judy
Cairns, the Director of the Women’s
Ministries Institute, teaches the introductory course
Soul Care: Tending Our Inner Life and provides
direction for the Internship component of WMI. She
served on staff as Ministry Assistant and Director
of Women’s Ministries at Grandview Baptist Church
in Kitchener, ON for 15 years. She and her husband
Derek have 3 adult children and live in Waterloo,
ON.
Rosetta DelMonte and her husband Luciano partner together with The Navigators of Canada where they have been on staff for 28 years. Rosetta has served as Outreach Director at Lakeside Church in Guelph where she has helped to create environments where spiritual seekers can come and discuss spiritual issues. She is passionate about helping others be intentional in their relationships with non-believers. She enjoys the outdoors and cooking Italian food. Rosetta and her husband have 3 grown sons. She teaches the course Sharing the Truth.
Donna
Dong is the Director of Multiethnic/multicultural
Ministry for Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of
Canada and is the WMI instructor for Module 5
“Global Perspectives.”. Her current
role is the latest in over 30 years of Inter-Varsity
ministry to university students and to young generations
of women and men. Donna delights to teach and preach
the scriptures in the settings of campuses, churches,
and conferences, as well as to train for leadership
development and intercultural competence. At the recent
IVCF Urbana 07 Missions Conference, Donna addressed
22,000 delegates in the plenary session, “True
Reality in Christ and in His Church”—a
summary teaching of Ephesians. Donna completed the
two-year course of biblical and theological studies
at the Discipleship Training Centre in Singapore.
She serves as the current National Ministry Partner
from Inter-Varsity, working on the Leading Women Conference
to be held in Feb/March 2008. partner member of the
Leading Women. Donna lives in Etobicoke and is a member
of Knox Presbyterian Church of Toronto.
Merrie
Eizenga and her husband pastor at Waterloo
Pentecostal Church in Waterloo, ON where Merrie loves
to teach the Word of God and its relevancy and application
to our lives today. She is a very gifted communicator
and has had some of her curriculum published. God
has blessed Merrie with a unique speaking ministry
throughout Canada. For many years, she gave leadership
to the women’s ministry at WPA. Merrie teaches
the Communications course at WMI. She and
her husband have 2 children and live in Waterloo,
ON.
Deanna Harris was a part of the Women's Ministries Institute's 2nd graduating class in 2007 and enthusiastically joined the WMI Ministry
Leadership Team in the fall of that same year. Her experience with WMI
developed both her confidence and passion to use the gifts that God has
given her. Deanna has been attending Hughson Street Baptist Church in
Hamilton for the past 10 years where she is a part of the Women's Ministry
team, most enjoying opportunities to teach from God's Word and to share
with others how God has in the past and continues to reveal Himself in her life. Deanna and her husband Steve have three children and live in Hamilton, ON. Deanna will be teaching the course Transformational Mentoring.
Shelly Kearns teaches
the unit Foundations of Our Faith. She is
passionate about God’s Word and has taught Old
Testament Studies at Heritage College and Seminary
in Cambridge, ON. As a young girl, Shelly spent summers
in South America where her parents led short-term
missions teams. She and her husband have also experienced
a short term mission trip in Alaska and have also
spent several years in Kijabe, Kenya teaching at a
Bible School there. Shelly and her husband have 2
young daughters and reside in Wellesley, ON.
Lisa
Martin, is the Founder of the Women's Ministries Institute. She has served in many ministry positions over the years, including Director of Women's Ministries for FEB CENTRAL and Executive Director of the Pregnancy Resource Centre in Cambridge, ON. Presently, she is an elementary school teacher for the Waterloo Board of Education. Lisa is one of the panel members for "Communications II" and provides great wisdom and insight to the students regarding their oral presentations. Lisa and her husband Andrew have 3 children.
Gayla
Matos teaches the unit Studying the Truth.
She has an effective speaking and teaching ministry
and God is using Gayla to share His message of love
to people in various churches and ministries throughout
the province. She worked with Campus Crusade for Christ
as a Coordinator for their “Mothers Who Care”
program and was also the Women’s Ministries
Coordinator at Brant Bible Church in Burlington for
3 ½ years. Gayla also serves on the WMI Advisory
Board. She and her husband have 2 children and live
in Waterdown, ON.
Sue
Montgomery teaches the unit Spiritual
Leadership. A gifted leader, Sue is currently
on staff at West Highland Baptist Church in Hamilton,
ON where she gives leadership to the Women’s
Ministries. Sue’s equipping for this role has
come from many years in business sales, recruitment
and management. She also serves on our WMI Advisory
Board. Sue and her husband have 2 children and live
in Ancaster, ON.
Becky
Peters provides a ministry of spiritual direction
to those who seek to increase their attentiveness
to God’s presence and guidance in their lives.
She is currently studying at Tyndale Seminary. Becky
concludes the training at WMI through a guided Spiritual
Retreat for the students. She has ministered
on staff at Waterloo Mennonite Brethren Church in
Waterloo, ON. Becky and her husband have 2 adult children
and recently moved to Borden, ON.
Bonnie
Piovesonis one of the founding members and
the Director of Operations and Design for NextLEVEL
Leadership which provides a training and networking
program for Christian business and professional women
with leadership gifts. Over the past several years,
Bonnie has also worked with 15 National Ministry Partners
to coordinate the Leading Women Conference where hundreds
of women attend from across Canada. She and her husband
own the bookstore, The Storehouse Christian Bookshoppe,
in Guelph. Bonnie teaches the unit Understanding
Our Spiritual Formation.
As
a speaker and trainer, Donna-Lee Sisson seeks
to encourage and facilitate leadership development
of women in the church – especially in the area
of pastoral care of women. Donna-Lee is a member of
a panel who provide encouragement and support to our
students during the oral presentations of their Internship
projects in the unit Communications II..
Donna-Lee lives in Stouffville, ON.
